Udaipur

Udaipur is one of the most charming and captivating cities in India. It is located in the royal state of Rajasthan. It is well connected by air, rail, and road to important cities of India like Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Aurangabad, Mumbai, Agra, and Delhi.

Udaipur is one of the most romantic cities in India and is better known as the City of Lakes. There are many beautiful places, palatial palaces, terrific temples, gorgeous gardens, and beautiful lakes in the city which draws a number of tourists and vacationers from all over the world. Surrounded by lovely lakes and hemmed in lush hills, this beautiful city was founded by Maharana Udai Singh II in the year 1568.

Udaipur is also popularly described as the white city of India. Various beautiful lakes let the city claim to name “City of Lakes”. The city is majestically located on the banks of picturesque Pichola Lake. A sunset boat cruise over the romantic water of lovely Lake Pichola is a unique experience. Fateh Sagar Lake, Udai Sagar Lake, Swaroop Sagar Lake, etc are other beautiful lakes in the white city of Udaipur.

Udaipur is widely known for Rajput-era palaces. There are a number of elegant palaces in the city. Many of palaces have been converted into luxury heritage hotels offering excellent accommodation facilities and a wonderful holiday experience to visitors. The Lake Palace situated on the island situated in the middle of Pichola Lake is certainly the most predominant and beautiful palace attraction in Udaipur. Other palaces in Udaipur are City Palace Complex, Monsoon Palace, Fateh Prakash Palace, Shiv Niwas Palace, Jag Mandir, etc.

Places of Tourist Attractions

Lake Palace: It is one of the most important palaces situated in Udaipur. It is located on the island in the middle of picturesque Pichola Lake. It is certainly one of the most visited attractions in the city. At present, the palace has been converted into a grand heritage hotel called Hotel Lake Palace.

Pichola Lake: It is a beautiful lake on which banks the city of Udaipur lies. It is the oldest lake in the city. There are two beautiful palaces situated in the middle lake on two islands. The palaces are Lake Palace (Jag Niwas) and Jag Mandir Palace.

City Palace: It is the prime attraction of Udaipur. The palace has many courtyards, beautiful pavilions, corridors, terraces, decorated rooms, and hanging gardens. The upper terraces of the palace overlook spectacular views of picturesque Pichola Lake. The main part of the palace now has been converted into a museum called City Palace Museum.

Saheliyon-Ki-Bari: It is also a worth-visit attraction of Udaipur. This beautiful garden has five beautiful water fountains. The garden was built for royal ladies and their friends.
